RECONNECT

WITH

YOURSELF !

True!….Life happens…but lately you may be feeling you are not able to cope as well as you used to. You can’t remember the last time you felt happy…. you feel you don’t know who you are any more ….

Counselling helps to remove the layers of past experiences that may be preventing you from enjoying your life today. I offer a confidential space for you to express your thoughts and feelings and clarify them (with a little help from me). You feel safe enough to be vulnerable with difficult emotions and through all this you learn more about yourself and most important ….learn to value and love yourself!

“I just want to be happy”

Think of all the things you do to feel good about yourself…enjoy good food, go shopping, get a new haircut, watch a film…the list is endless. Nothing wrong with that - except that your happiness doesn’t seem to last. The moment you stop doing things or are left on your own, certain thoughts and feelings may start troubling you …and it all starts again!

You may be

  • in a an unhappy or abusive relationship

  • dealing with unresolved trauma

  • feeling bad about yourself, lonely, isolated

  • sad about a relationship break-up

  • feeling fear and anxiety about the future

  • dealing with a health condition

  • grieving the loss of loved one

  • dealing with anger

In the process we will also explore how religious beliefs and cultural values may be influencing your decisions, your relationships and your self-worth. You will understand how self-esteem is affected by events in childhood and what you can do now to build your confidence and self-worth.

What my clients say…

My journey through therapy began when I reached a point in my life where nothing made sense and I really felt trapped. I had just been existing for so long and struggled to find my place in the world or understand my purpose. From the very first session of counselling, I found Zaira very calm and easy to talk to. Every session felt freeing and as time went on it became easier to connect with my emotions and understand myself internally. At some point along the way I felt a change. My perspective had shifted and I realised that I could take control of my life.

I am going continue on my journey of self-healing and development, practising the mindfulness techniques you have taught me.Thank you Zaira, for helping me through a difficult time in my life. It's hard to express how truly grateful I am in words but your support has meant so much to me. The transformation I've had would have felt almost impossible a year ago and now I look forward to the future.I wish you all the best.

The Gut-Brain Connection

Ideally, the sight and smell of an appetizing plate of food should make your mouth water. This means that the gut is getting signals from the brain that it needs to prepare for digesting the food, and starts producing the necessary enzymes. I

f you have been suffering from low mood and anxiety over a long period the signals from the brain to the gut are disrupted. You lose your appetite, your meals become irregular and this in turn affects your sleep , energy and concentration levels.

It’s really important to understand how the body and the brain work.

Food is the fuel the body and brain need and use to produce the energy we need, and to produce the necessary feel-good chemicals (known as neurotransmitters) that regulate our moods.

How you feel physically and mentally is directly related to the food you eat and the way you live.
